Kelsey Anne Heimerman

about

Kelsey Anne Heimerman is a classically trained, visionary oil painter and gold gilder. Her unique gift to portray visual language has been nurtured and guided through the direct exploration of culture, nature and the deep study of art history. She approaches painting as a primary form of thinking with limitless possibilities that consistently produces her innovative work. In addition to being an oil painter her skills are drawn towards many areas of the arts including photography, large scale public murals, an archive of digital paintings, book illustrations, steel and porcelain sculpture and poetry. Using history as a lightening bolt of inspiration she strives to always push the boundaries in art forward using only pure, archival materials that will withstand the test of time.

Her unique imagery and style has been shaped though countless experiences of crossing borders, walking rivers, stepping into cities outside of her comfort zone, crossing mountaintops, hillsides and jungles. Her work is inspired by the whimsy of mythology, psychology, spirituality and uses a universal language of color met with a contemporary twist. At times referencing pop culture icons, vintage cartoons, and imagery that speaks to where our society is now in art history. Heimerman’s affinity for studying the ancient past, symbols that overlap time periods, advances in technology, and embracing nature creates the inner worlds of the self are so often revealed within her prolific portfolio. Her early self made success is contributed to her entrepreneurial spirit and ability to imbue her monumental art with a futuristic way of thinking.

She operates both inside and outside of the art world, consistently producing sold out exhibitions that are self funded completely through the sale of her artwork. She continues her studies by often taking residencies and volunteering abroad, making the world her pallet of inspiration, she then uses to create her vibrant oil paintings.

Heimerman owns her studio space in Dallas, Texas and is an advocate for women creating independent lives that support their creative dreams. She often creates projects that pour back into communities by curating unique events that bring the best creative minds around her to interact directly with the public through music, art and poetry. She is progressive and forward thinking, while also holding onto the beautiful things of the past that took time, intention and have a deeply meaningful quality to them where an experience can move the person towards a space that feels unknown. The space the only brilliant art creates.
